This is a touchy exercise and post but here we go. The RFESS is an advanced exercise to build strength, power in the lower body; more so the quads. The RFESS also builds balance.
With this variation you're performing it from the Rack Pull position with a scrape on the rack to promote balance and an effective pull. This exercise is not of creativity but with the Rack Pull it encourages the use of different muscle groups to reach specific goals and increased performance., it just takes the right set-up maximized pull and balance to achieve success in this progression. Another great benefit of this exercises is the shorter range of motion (because the knee isn't touching the ground) there's more of an impact on the quads, glutes, core, pull and balance of the lift, which leads itself to an second or two pause, which does wonders in those weak parts of the lift.
As you see in the video my balance is a little off, which seems like my back is sinking ( I just needed to get adjusted) they key is to stay tall and pull. Don't have too far of a forward lean.
